Schola Nova is one of few choral groups devoted exclusively to the performance of sacred choral literature. Currently numbering about 17 singers of varying backgrounds, the group has provided music for liturgy as well as concerts of sacred vocal music. Under the direction of founder, Michael Dulac, they have been heard frequently in the Pioneer Valley, the Berkshires, and the Worcester area. Among the venues they have performed in are St. Paul’s Cathedral in Worcester, St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Hartford, and St. Michael’s Cathedral in Springfield. In the Spring of 2001, they performed in the Music at First series at Old First Church, Court Square, Springfield, together with Novi Cantori. Schola also appeared as part of the AGO Carol Sing at Christ Church Cathedral in December 2001.

Their repertoire includes Gregorian Chant and early music, selections from the Romantic Period, and contemporary music as well. They have sung recent compositions by Pioneer Valley composers Dr. Andrew Bonacci (Westfield State College) and Dr. Allen Bonde (Mount Holyoke College).
